(7/9/2007) ACH Foam Raises $8K for Multiple Sclerosis
Denver,CO - Nearly 400,000 Americans and 2.5 million people worldwide suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is a chronic, unpredictable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system. This disruption of the central nervous system results in fatigue and disturbances of vision, strength, coordination, balance, and sensations. On July 7th and 8th employees and friends of ACH Foam Technologies, including Chief Executive Officer, Ted Dann participated in the MS 150 Bike Ride along with 3,330 other cyclists to support MS and raise money for the cause.
With several close friends and family of the ACH Foam Team currently suffering from MS, CEO and avid cyclist Ted Dann accepted a challenge from a fellow colleague to complete the 2-day, 150 mile bike ride with six other ACH employees and supporters to raise money for MS. “Our goal was to finish each day’s 75 mile ride in under 8 hours, to avoid SAG van assistance, and to raise as much money as we could to help fight MS,” stated Ted Dann.
Day 1 started in Broomfield, CO at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning and ended 78.3 miles later in Fort Collins, CO. After a refreshing meal and some rest, Day 2 tested the ACH Team’s endurance to complete the final 78.4 mile ride from Fort Collins, CO to Broomfield where they completed their journey at 2:00PM Sunday afternoon.
"We observed many interesting, courageous and varied individuals and teams, from professional cyclists on top end bikes to grandfathers and granddaughters on tandems. Perhaps the most inspiring was the man pedaling his Recumbent [a bicycle which places the rider in a supine position] with his arms,” Ted Dann states as he relives the experience of his 2-day trek.
The ACH Foam Team planned to raise $10,000 for MS and “succeeded in every goal. We all finished in good shape, and so far we have raised almost $8,000,” Dann stated with excitement of their victory for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers.
All ACH employee donations submitted to the ACH Foam MS Team by Friday, August 10th will be matched by ACH Foam Technologies.
