The Economy & Freight CostsACH Foam Technologies semi truck
Foam packaging sales. Like anything else in this tough economy, finding a “home for my foam” is a challenge that requires an increasing amount of planning, effort, and even luck. But what I find myself selling more of is the freight it takes to get the foam packaging to our customer. Rising fuel costs, increased regulations in the trucking industry, and shorter lead times have resulted in higher freight costs.

Surprising Ways to Save on Freight
As the foam packaging we manufacture carries a high freight classification, there generally aren’t any deals on LTL shipments. I have been able to offer a significant savings to our customers who are in the position to pick-up product from our facilities. Many times customers also do not realize they have backhaul opportunities. We regularly work with customers to determine if these opportunities exist and how the customer can maximize their freight savings.

The Convenience of National Distribution
Transportation costs are going continue to be a major factor that will influence how far and where we can ship our foam packaging. A little dialog and proper planning will minimize the effect of these costs. Additionally, the 9 strategic ACH Foam Technologies locations across the USA makes our product convenient and reduces shipping time which is one of the many reasons our customers rely on us year-after-year.
