ACH Foam Technologies offers both EPS and Biodegradable Loose Fill. These versatile, lightweight and economical packaging materials flow around the shapes of items to be shipped and protect a number of products of reasonable size and varying degrees of fragility. Loose fill is also utilized as a void fill to stabilize a variety of items in packages to prevent shifting during transit.
Free-Flowing: How to use loose fill for optimum results
1) For best results and optimum protection, it is recommended that the shipper ‘Free-Flow’ loose fill into their shipping container approximately half full, place item/items to be shipped in the center of the container on top of the loose fill and continue ‘free-flowing’ loose fill into the container until there is a gentle ‘dome’ approximately two-inches above the top level of the container.
2) Fold the container flaps downward, compressing the loose fill and tape flaps in place. This method ‘locks’ the loose fill around the item/items in the center of the container and creates the optimal environment of protection by keeping the product in place; surrounded by loose fill.
3) The purpose of free-flowing is to take advantage of the air-voids between individual pieces of loose fill. The air voids are what provide cushioning and help maintain the position of the items in the container. It also prevents migration to the edges of the container where product is susceptible to damage.
ACH Foam Technologies’ loose fill is Anti-Static - it’s treated for static-sensitive electronic products. Overhead dispensing containers are available and range in size from 15-C/F to 140-C/F.
