EPS foam as a replacement for other types of foam in packaging applications has many
advantages. Cost can be affected by the the overall cost of producing the EPS, how quickly EPS solutions can be produced, the lack of tooling needed for fabricated parts and the ease of changes to the design which amounts to a few keystrokes in AutoCAD.
Prototypes can be produced easily and in a timely fashion. When the item being packaged is shock or vibration sensitive, certain proven and tested design features can be incorporated into areas of the top/bottom caps to alleviate those concerns. Although EPS will not completely replace all flexible foam alternatives for every application, in many cases our expert design department can assemble a functional part with significant cost savings.
