ACH Foam Technologies' R-Control® Structural Insulated Panels were chosen to frame and insulate the Redford Sundance Conference Center.
Actor Robert Redford worked closely with Salerno Architects to select environmentally friendly and energy-efficient products for the new conference center.
R-Control® SIPs were chosen for their inherent energy efficiency and structural performance. SIPs provide the ability to resist snow loads.
A total of 15,152 square feet of 8-1/4" and 12-1/4" SIPs were used to frame the three roof areas of the Center.
Pre-Plan Electrical & Equipment Needs. Since SIP panels are manufactured to the project's requirements its important to plan for electrical chases in advance to avoid costly changes.
Organize Panels for Installation Set aside a level spot to store panels and organize them by the sequence which they will be installed. Don't forget to provide plenty of support for the panels.
Installation & Sealing During installation it's important to note that panels need to be fully supported. Set panels in place in order - start in the corners or valleys and work out. Seal joints properly with adhesive or SIP tape.
Fully Support Panels SIP panels need to be set half an inch from the building edge to ensure they are fully supported.
Protect from Weather Penetration Weather protection such as housewrap will prevent moisture deterioration. Windows, openings and penetrations require proper flashing and sealants.
