Foam-Control® Below-Grade & Underslab Insulation

Unfaced Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Insulation

Below-Grade EPS Insulation is stable and has very low moisture gain when used in properly drained designs. Foam-Control® EPS Insulation retains 95 percent of its R-Value, even at 4 percent moisture gain. Foam-Control® EPS may also be used on the interior of foundation walls as crawl-space insulation.

EPS Below-Grade & Underslab Insulation Benefits

  • Resistant to Termites
  • Meets Code Requirements for Ground Contact
  • Stable R-Value
  • No CFC, HCFC or HFC
  • Less Cost and Comparable Performance to Extruded Polystyrene
  • Warmer Foundations and Basements
  • Dew Point Moved to Outside of Wall
  • Compression Protection from Expansive Soils
  • Environmentally Friendly

EPS Below-Grade & Underslab Insulation Installation Instructions

  • Below-Grade EPS as Perimeter/Underslab Insulation must be installed as shown on drawings.
  • Use an adhesive compatible with EPS and/or fasteners for attachment.
  • Provide type (specify), size (specify) and thickness (specify).
  • Install in compliance with manufacturer's application guidelines and applicable building codes. Note: provide drainage away from Foam-Control® EPS for optimum performance.
