Federal Energy Tax Credits

Note:  Tax credits that were 30% up to $1,500 EXPIRED on December 31, 2010.  New tax credits were passed, but at lower levels.

Energy Star products qualify for a tax credit. These credits are available for a variety of products at 10% of the product’s cost, up to $500 in 2011 for existing homes. ACH Foam Technologies get green go white environmentally

Products such ACH Foam Technologies' Foam-Control® expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation and R-Control® structural insulated panels qualify for the energy tax credit.

2011 Federal Energy Tax Credits

  • 10% of cost up to $500 or a specific amount from $50-$300
  • Must be placed in service from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011
  • Must be a taxpayer’s existing and principal residence, new construction and rentals do not qualify.
  • $500 is the maximum total amount that can be claimed for all insulation products placed in service in 2011.
  • Improvements made in 2011 will be claimed on your 2011 taxes (filed by April 15, 2012) – use IRS Tax Form 5695 (2011 Version) – it will be available late 2011 or early 2012.
